David E. Howerton: –Morning damp fades–

–Morning damp fades–

Didn’t pay attention again
world changed left me confused.
Been years or at least
feels that long,
drank self into forgetting.
Dogs bark down road.
Morning damp fades,
leaves hot vehicles odors
drifting down road.
Someone I don’t remember
smiles recognition
damn hangover.
